Since 2012, the Lumière Lyon 2 University has been supporting the reception of students in exile at the University, in particular for learning the French language. The CIEF, a recognised player in the field of French as a foreign language and French for academic purposes, participated in the working group that developed the DU Gateway - students in exile, at the initiative of the Mens network (Migrants in 'Higher Education). This University Diploma was accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for granting CROUS scholarships in 2019, along with 18 other universities.


If you are a refugee, asylum seeker, or under subsidiary protection and you want to learn French, the CIEF offers you the Gateway University Diploma (DU PASSERELLE - DUP) :


 
DU Passerelle - UD Gateway (DUP)


The DU Passerelle UD Gateway – students in exile is a specific programme to acquire level B1 or B2 and prepare you for training in higher education or resuming your profession.

Prerequisites  language level A2 or B1
For students in exile who do not meet the conditions to register for the DU Passerelle a maximum of 15 places will be offered in the DUEF at a rate of €300 for the 1st and then the 2nd semester, subject to having presented a complete application file within the time limit. Applications are accepted only at the beginning of the year.
The applications will be studied by an educational committee that will take into account the applicant’s professional plans, motivation and the date of receipt of the application.
